• Provide dedicated 1:1 support to students with visual impairments
• Support classroom instruction and structured educational activities
• Apply behavioral intervention and reinforcement strategies
• Assist with communication development and social skills training
• Support student mobility, navigation, and transitions throughout the school day
• Maintain a safe, organized, and structured classroom environment
• Document student participation, progress, and behavioral observations
• Collaborate with teachers, specialists, therapists, and support staff
Visual Impairment Support Responsibilities
• Work under the supervision of a licensed Teacher of the Blind/Visually Impaired
• Assist students in accessing instructional materials and classroom content
• Support orientation and mobility within the classroom and school environment
• Provide individualized assistance tailored to each student’s visual and sensory needs
Qualifications
• Prior experience working with special education students preferred
• Experience supporting students with autism, multiple disabilities, or visual impairments is highly desirable
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Patient, reliable, and student-centered approach
