the Role:
Were seeking a dedicated and proactive Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to join our team in a school-based setting, providing 1:1 support to students with autism. This role is ideal for someone passionate about making a difference, confident in the moment, and committed to student safety and success.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide 1:1 behavior support to students with autism in a school environment
• Implement individualized behavior intervention plans under the supervision of a BCBA
• Respond quickly and effectively to behaviors such as elopement to ensure student safety
• Communicate clearly with school staff, caregivers, and the clinical team
• Track data and document student progress throughout the school day
• Promote independence and skill-building in social, academic, and daily living areas
Must-Haves:
• Paraprofessional license through ISBE (must be active before starting)
• Current certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) required; we can provide RBT certification support for those new to the field.
• Experience working with children, preferably those with autism or in special education
• Confidence in decision-making and responding in high-stakes moments
• Punctuality and strong communication skills
Nice to Have:
• School-based or classroom experience
• Familiarity with behavior intervention strategies
• Calm under pressure and quick on your feet
