Job Description

Responsibilities:
1. Will participate and maintain a culture withinThe Corvallis Clinic consistent with the content outlined in the Service andBehavioral Standards document. To this end, employee will be expected to read,have familiarity, and embrace the principles contained within.
2. Collects andprocess clinical blood and non-blood specimens with patients of all ages. Dispense collection instructions to patients.
3. Performsreception duties by answering phones, registering patients in EMR, checkinginsurance, and providing necessary paperwork to patients.
4. Followsprocedures, policies, and Medicare compliance regulations.
5. Followssafety procedures and maintains a well-ordered work area including records,supplies, and equipment.
6. Utilizescomputer systems for data storage and retrieval.
7. Displaysworking knowledge of ICD10 coding and Medicare compliance regulations.
8. Acts as areliable resource for new staff, students, and co-workers.
9. Assists theSupervisor and leads with training.
10. Performs waived and moderate complexity testing.Including microscopy. Perform EKG, Spirometry, and Holter monitor set up.
11. Works independently at satellite laboratories.
12. Communicatesand troubleshoots working as a team with the supervisor and leads to resolveany issues that occur throughout the day.
13. Has athorough working knowledge of the laboratory information System, electronic medicalrecords, telephones, and Practice Management systems.
14. Demonstratesstrong communication skills and a working knowledge in all areas of the lab andworking knowledge of all LIS used within the laboratory.
Education, Experience, and Licensure:
1. High schooldiploma or equivalent required.
2. Certification as a Phlebotomist orequivalent required (ASCP, NPA or ASCLS).
3. One (1) year of phlebotomy experiencerequired.
4. One (1) year of clinical laboratory testing experience preferred.
5. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability tocomplete BLS certification within 90 days of hire required.
Knowledge and skills:
1. Working knowledge of ICD10 coding, MedicareCompliance regulations and the Laboratory Information System.
2. Ability to work compatibly with physicians,patients, and other staff.
3. Ability to problem solve and workindependently.
4. Ability to multitask while staying efficientand accurate.
