Job Description

• Balance care of research participants with protocol requirements and compliance, ensuring patient safety and adherence to study guidelines.
• Utilize clinical research nursing expertise to advocate for patients and provide operational support to the research team.
• Collaborate with clinic nurses and study teams to deliver research-specific education to patients and families, and document appropriately.
• Assist investigators and study teams in pre-screening, eligibility confirmation, adverse event assessments, and serious adverse event reporting.
• Document research protocol details in electronic health records and support data entry and compliance activities.
• Support review and documentation of concomitant medications, reconcile medication diaries, and assist with protocol-required clinic visits.
• Facilitate communication and coordination with multidisciplinary teams, and provide research education to clinical staff as needed.
• Identify and communicate obstacles in research operations, participate in monitoring visits, and attend relevant validation meetings.

Qualifications:
• Baccalaureate degree required; baccalaureate in nursing preferred.
• Current Washington State Registered Nurse (RN) license or current NLC multistate license (MSL); must upgrade to MSL with WA as primary state of residence within 60 days of hire (waivers possible under specific circumstances).
• Current BLS AHA Health Provider Card (or equivalent) with renewal every two years.
• Minimum 3 years of recent oncology experience and experience in the care of oncology patients.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team, with strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and process improvement skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines and targets; strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
• Experience with clinical research preferred; minimum of 2 years research experience preferred.
• Certification in Oncology Nursing (OCN), BMTCN, AOCN, or AOCNS preferred.
