Qualifications
- •An established as co-author or senior author of proposals, journal articles and technical reports
- •High level of knowledge in scientific research processes, procedures, and objectives
- •Possess ability to implement experiments in the subject discipline with the ability to trouble shoot issues
- •Good knowledge of the principles and techniques of the subject discipline required
- •Possesses ability to run complex pieces of equipment requiring advanced specialized training
- •Possess knowledge of modern research methods, data collection and analysis
- •Significant experience in analyzing and evaluating data
- •General level of knowledge of project management, decision-making, and analytical skills
- •Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- •Ability to work collaboratively with a research group or team
- •Sanford Research is a multi-site institution and occasional local travel between sites may be required
- •Requires a doctorate degree in a clinical, health, or life science field
- •Minimum of three years post-doctoral experience in related subject field of study
- •Competitive publication record for rank and discipline

Responsibilities
- •This position will be responsible for supporting faculty and scientists’ biostatistical needs in clinical research, as well as providing didactic instruction and student mentoring through the university
- •Qualified candidates will have a strong background in biostatistics, including methodology and design, hypothesis testing, bioanalytic approaches, and power analyses
- •Preferred candidates will have experience with clinical research, NIH grant writing, large data sets and teaching and mentoring
- •Assistant Scientist plans, coordinates, implements and conducts independent scientific research
- •Research would include but is not limited to complex laboratory testing, experiments and analysis following established protocols
- •Analyzes and evaluates findings
- •Organizes and conceptualizes ideas leading to proposals
- •Writes technical summaries and publications
- •Prepares and makes formal presentations of research results
- •Considered the principal investigator on grants
