Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to join our team as a Heart of Joy & Journey Partner. As an RBT, you will work closely with our team to provide high-quality ABA therapy services to individuals with autism and related disorders. Your expertise and passion for helping others will be instrumental in helping us achieve our mission.

Position Summary

Behavior Technicians are hourly employees with variable eligibility for benefits depending on average hours worked. The Behavior Technician (RBT®), under the supervision of a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA®) is responsible for the direct implementation of behavior analytic programs with learners on their caseload. The Behavior Technician reports directly to the supervising Behavior Analyst(s) on their assigned case(s). Working hours for Behavior Technicians may include any time that A Gem of Joy ABA offers ABA services (Monday-Friday 8am-8pm); however, depending on the needs of families and the organization, they may be asked to work outside of those hours.

Qualifications

Education
• Required: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Preferred: bachelor’s degree in education, psychology, Applied Behavior Analysis, or a related field.

Certification
• Current, active certification as a Registered Behavior Technician

Work Experience
• 1 year of experience working with individuals with Autism or I/DD
• Preferred: At least 1 year of experience in direct implementation of behavior analytic programs under the direction of a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst.

Knowledge and Skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including building rapport with learners and family members.
• Ability to receive feedback from supervisors and change future behavior according to that feedback.
• Ability to incorporate learning objectives into play-based or naturalistic activities.
• Preferred: Proficiency using (or prior exposure to) Microsoft 365 applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams, etc.).

Job Duties
• Complete direct intervention (1:1) hours with learners, as assigned based on your availability.
• Working hours for this position are M-F (13 total hours per week):
Monday: 10:15 am - 12:30 pm
Tuesday: 10:45 am - 12:30 pm

Wednesday - Friday: 9:30 am - 12:30 pm
• Implement treatment plans, including strategies for skill acquisition and challenging behavior reduction, as written by the supervising BCBA.
• Maintain positive relationships with team members and caregivers.
• Escalate learner or family concerns to the supervising BCBA.
• Timely completion of all session documentation, including session notes, timesheets, and caregiver signatures
