Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to join our team. The SLPA will support the coordination of evaluation, treatment, and clinical activities of speech therapy to ensure effective and high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
• Work under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist to provide therapeutic interventions that improve clients' communication abilities.
• Assist in implementing treatment plans for clients with speech and language disorders.
• Conduct speech and language screenings as directed by the supervising Speech-Language Pathologist.
• Document the client's progress toward treatment goals and report this information to the supervising Speech-Language Pathologist.
• Provide direct therapy services to clients as directed by the supervising Speech-Language Pathologist.
Prepare therapy materials and maintain equipment and supplies. Participate in team meetings and professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge.
• Adhere to all professional, ethical, and legal regulations as set out by the state licensing board and the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
Education and Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree or associate degree in Speech-Language Pathology Assistant/Communicative Disorders or a related field.
• 1 year of verifiable professional experience as an SLPA within the last 3 years (may include residency or clinical practicum).
• Valid California License as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant granted by the California Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Board.
