Primary Duties:
• Administers radio pharmaceuticals and observes patients during procedures. Reports any unusual occurrences to appropriate personnel. Assists physician with therapy procedures. Prepares patients, obtains patient history, and performs Nuclear Medicine exams. Obtains blood and urine specimens for the performance and computation of invitro tests.
• Assists in the development of Nuclear Medicine protocols, procedures, and ongoing performance improvement programs. Participates in supply/equipment maintenance, clinical research projects, and educational program and affiliations.
• Generates film or computer image and evaluates film for technical quality.
• Maintains orderliness and cleanliness of work areas. Reports any unsafe or potentially unsafe conditions. Maintains safe radiation practices and completes all documentation mandated by department, organization, or regulatory body regarding radioactive materials use. Maintains documentation regarding receipt of radio pharmaceuticals, dosage, quality control, radioactive source storage, and disposal of radio pharmaceuticals/ radioactive materials.
• Operates Nuclear Medicine and other departmental equipment and performs quality control and preventive maintenance regularly. Contacts outside service for major malfunctions. Calculates, orders, prepares, and measures radio pharmaceuticals/kits.
Qualifications:
• Registered Nuclear Medicine Technologist license in the State of Maryland.
• Basic Life Support (BLS).
This position has a hiring range of
USD $35.68 - USD $58.84 /Hr.
