Cases available throughout Bronx, Queens, Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Staten Island. Providers are matched to cases near their residence.
About NYC Behavior Specialists
NYC Behavior Specialists provides Applied Behavior Analysis services across home, school, and community settings. The clinical approach focuses on building meaningful skills rather than suppressing behavior. Treatment targets functional communication, independence, and long-term generalization into daily life environments.
The organization operates from three principles:
• Behavior has meaning interventions address function, not surface behavior.
• Therapy must increase autonomy the goal is reduced dependence on providers over time.
• Consistency across environments determines success collaboration with caregivers and schools is required.
Position Overview
RBTs provide direct one-to-one ABA therapy to children and adolescents with autism and related developmental needs in home, school, and community settings based on assignment location.
Responsibilities
Implement behavior intervention plans created by the supervising BCBA
Run skill acquisition programs including communication, social, academic readiness, and daily living skills
Collect accurate session data
Maintain session structure while responding appropriately to client behavior
Communicate progress and barriers to supervisors
Maintain professional interaction with families and school staff
Follow safety and ethical guidelines at all times
Requirements
Active RBT certification required
Reliable transportation within assigned borough
Ability to follow clinical protocols precisely
Professional reliability and punctuality
Preferred Qualifications
School-based ABA experience
Experience with maladaptive behaviors
Spanish speaking helpful but not required
Compensation and Support
