Job Description
## Behavior Specialist in Olympia — a first step into a meaningful career
At Center for Social Dynamics (CSD) we invite changemakers who believe that every child deserves to shine. This role is entry-level by design; you don't need prior experience — we'll train you and support you every step of the way. Starting Pay: $20–$25 per hour, based on experience. We use Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to help children grow, and we bring play, connection, and evidence-based strategies to every session.
### What you'll do and where you’ll work
You will use play, games, and evidence-based strategies to help kids build communication, social, and life skills. Sessions happen at a child’s home, one of our centers, or out in the community, so expect a flexible, on-the-go role where no two days look the same. You will follow personalized plans designed by our clinical leaders and celebrate small wins that lead to big growth.
This position offers flexible schedules plus paid training so you can learn, earn, and thrive. The posting notes availability needs, especially Mon–Fri afternoons/evenings + Saturdays.
### Why this role is different
We offer a mapped-out career pathway from day one — clarity about promotion and growth. Benefits include free college or tuition reimbursement through our Dreams Come True Program, paid training, and recognition as you grow. You’ll receive paid drive time & mileage reimbursement and a company-issued cell phone, and there are competitive pay and bonus opportunities.
### About you and what we require
This role is for someone who loves working with kids and who brings patience, energy, and optimism to every session. You should be comfortable working with diverse populations, have reliable transportation, and be willing to complete training and documentation. Specific requirements listed in the posting include:
- H.S. Diploma or GED
- Flexible availability (especially Mon–Fri afternoons/evenings + Saturdays)
- Proof of vaccinations (MMR, Varicella, COVID – CA mandated)
- Reliable transportation
- Comfort working with diverse populations
- Willingness to complete training and documentation
- Ability to frequently sit and stand; keeping pace with your client
### What success looks like
Success is described as kids smiling because they can now say a new word, share a toy, or join in play; families feeling hope and relief because they see progress; and you growing through paid training, coaching, and mapped-out career milestones.
### Physical and daily demands
Physical requirements may include but are not limited to: constant visual stimulation, including close vision, distance vision, reading, and computer work; constant sitting with frequent up and down out of a chair; constant use of telephone, speaking, and listening; constant document handling, use of copier and fax machine, and filing; frequent typing and computer use. There is occasional walking around a building, occasional bending, reaching, stooping, pulling, and occasional lifting, carrying, moving of items up to 20 pounds. Occasional walking to, bending to enter, sitting and using upper and lower limbs to drive a car are also noted.
### Our values and culture
We live our TRUE values: Transparency, Respect, Understanding, and Excellence. CSD emphasizes connection, compassion, hands-on training, and career pathways that help you grow as much as those we serve. We are a proud equal opportunity employer and will consider qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records in accordance with the Fair Chance Act.
