Position Summary
The Lead – Tier II serves as the Administrator’s designee during assigned shifts and plays a critical leadership role in ensuring continuity of care, staff supervision, and regulatory compliance. This position works the opposite shift of the Administrator to provide consistent oversight of operations, staff performance, and client services.
The ideal candidate is an experienced leader with strong clinical awareness, excellent communication skills, and a working knowledge of Title 17 and Title 22 regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Operational & Leadership Duties
• Serve as the Administrator’s designee during assigned shifts
• Coordinate staffing coverage and manage staff call-offs (paid off-hours phone time per CA law)
• Support scheduling to ensure client hours and supervision requirements are met
• Act as liaison between staff, families, Administrator, consultants, and external partners
• Support and guide Lead Staff and Direct Support Professionals
• Assist with coaching, corrective actions, and performance feedback
• Support quality assurance and compliance activities
Client Care & Program Oversight
• Provide hands-on care and supervision in accordance with IPP/IBSP and Program Plans
• Ensure implementation of person-centered practices and HCBS requirements
• Support medication self-administration and ensure documentation accuracy
• Monitor client health, behaviors, and safety; report concerns promptly
• Assist with ADLs, community integration, appointments, and transportation
• Maintain a clean, safe, and home-like environment
• Ensure proper incident reporting, charting, and daily documentation
Compliance & Administrative Support
• Enforce AIMES policies and professional boundaries
• Assist with facility money management (P&I and outing funds)
• Maintain organization of medical appointments, referrals, and medication systems
• Ensure staff compliance with training, licensing, and certification requirements
• Follow and support emergency procedures and crisis response protocols
Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED required (higher education preferred)
• Minimum 2 years of direct care or supervisory experience supporting individuals with I/DD
• ARF Certification Program completion
• Must hold one of the following:
• Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT)
• Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)
• Qualified Behavior Modification Professional (QBMP)
• Knowledge of Title 17 and Title 22 regulations
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment
Required Certifications & Clearances
• DSP I & DSP II certifications
• CPI certification
• CPR/First Aid (current)
• AIDS/HIV/TB training (every two years)
• Physical/TB clearance
• Live Scan fingerprint clearance
• Signed criminal background declaration
Physical Requirements
• Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach throughout shifts
• Ability to perform CPI non-violent crisis intervention techniques
• Ability to respond quickly to emergencies, elopement, or behavioral incidents
Work Environment
• Licensed residential home and community-based settings
• Clients may present complex behavioral, medical, or emotional needs
• Requires emotional resilience, professionalism, and calm crisis response
