Communication is key in this role—you'll interact with students and other professionals to meet the emotional needs of students while obtaining case histories and completing observation checklists. Managing student behavior using appropriately designed management techniques is part of maintaining a productive therapy environment. During sessions, you'll summarize and record target behaviors, organize and manage student data and records, and operate or monitor equipment and materials as needed.
Feedback and education are important aspects of the position. You'll provide feedback to students and caregivers while educating them on exercises to improve communication skills. Collaboration with SLPs, teachers, and other healthcare professionals ensures comprehensive care and support.

Beyond credentials, we need someone with strong interpersonal communication skills, genuine compassion, patience, and adaptability. Attention to detail matters greatly in this work, and you should be comfortable operating a computer.
You'll need thorough knowledge of anatomy and physiology, normal communication development, phonetics, and developmental psychology. Understanding various types of disabilities seen in school children and different speech-language disorders is essential, as is familiarity with approaches to therapeutic educational intervention and the roles of supervising speech-language pathologists and assistants.
### Physical Requirements and Environment
This position requires you to be physically capable of lifting and moving up to 25 pounds and sitting for extended periods. This role requires meeting multiple demands from several people and interacting with the public and other staff. You'll work in a high-traffic indoor environment and must be able to work flexible hours as needed. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
### Special Requirements
