LOCATION: Lancaster, PA - Ann B. Barshinger Cancer Institute
HOURS: Full Time (40 hours per week). Monday-Friday (8am-4:30pm). No nights or weekends.
Summary:
This is a temporary grant funded Research Assistant, for one year. The Oncology Research Assistant (RA) is responsible for supporting and assisting in the implementation of complex cancer studies involving a wide variety of investigational products, aims and sponsors. The RA provides direct support to the Primary Investigator and study team for all studies assigned. The RA works collaboratively with all members of the Oncology Research Department to ensure timely and efficient trial conduct, upholding the highest standards of clinical research excellence.
Responsibilities:
• The Research Assistant will be responsible for all study activities for assigned research protocols including participant screening, recruitment, enrollment, conducting participant interviews and assessments.
• The position will work closely with the principal investigators (PIs) and members of the clinical research team to coordinate timely study activities according to protocol and department process and procedures.
• Other responsibilities include participating in team meetings, communicating with internal and external research team members, and interfacing with the clinical care teams at the point of patient contact.
• The Research Assistant supports the conduct of assigned clinical research protocols to ensure data collection and submission is completed according to protocol and sponsor requirements compliance, ensuring research participant safety and data quality.
• The position will participate in the development of effective tools for screening processes, close monitoring and reporting of trial accrual and patient activity as requested.
• Collect, review and report timely, valid, accurate study data as requested or required per protocol and/or department, Office of Clinical Research, Department of Compliance and Monitoring or other UPHS Research Program requirements.
• Involved as requested in the planning and implementation of patient
• Performs other duties as requested and completes all job functions as per departmental policies and procedures
Minimum Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Public Health, Nursing or other related health care or science related field.
• General experience working in cancer research, public health, or behavioral science.
• Excellent verbal and written and communication skills.
• Effective problem-solving skills.
• Ability to learn new methods quickly and multi-taks.
• Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team as well as independently.
