JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for operating both Positron Emission Tomography (PET) equipment and routine Computerized Tomography (CT) equipment. Incumbent will be responsible for producing high quality images with a minimum of repeats, handling multiple room assignments and all different types of exams (diagnostic and interventional computerized tomography) daily. Under the direction of a Nuclear Medicine physician, incumbent will perform high quality radionuclide imaging and non-imaging studies, including the administration of radiopharmaceuticals, the operation of instruments, the application of various imaging techniques, and the positioning of patients to present the maximum amount of diagnostic information. Technologist will assist with other activities as needed to ensure effective and efficient day-to-day operations in the department. This position requires initiative, the ability to make independent judgments, and maintain a positive attitude during challenging situations. Incumbent must be able to communicate with physicians, patients, families, caregivers, and ancillary hospital personnel in the execution of the required duties and will participate in improvement initiatives. This position may require cross-training in additional modalities and will participate in the training and orientation of other employees.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: High School Graduate or equivalent

Satisfactory completion of formal Radiologic Technology training in an AMA approved school

Minimum of two years of experience after graduation in a major hospital setting

Licensure: Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology in Nuclear Medicine, ARRT (N), OR Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT). Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology in Radiography, ARRT (R) (CT)

Computerized Tomography (CT)

Registered by the Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) Nuclear Medicine & CT

Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) American Heart Association
