Position Overview
The Medical Assistant plays a key role in supporting clinical operations and enhancing the patient experience by ensuring care is delivered efficiently and attentively. This position may provide support across multiple clinical areas as needed to maintain smooth workflows and provider efficiency. Primary Care experience is preferred but not required.
Key Responsibilities
Accurately record vital signs, patient history, and chief complaints. Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers during procedures. Administer medications and perform clinical duties within scope, including EKGs, injections, point-of-care testing, and specimen collection when applicable. Maintain precise and timely documentation in the EHR system.
Support patient flow, referrals, and follow-up activities as directed by providers. Assist with appointment preparation and administrative tasks when needed. Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, infection control, and safety protocols. Contribute to clinical quality initiatives, including preventive care screenings and chronic disease management.
Provide compassionate, respectful, and professional interactions to promote a positive patient experience.
Qualifications
Previous experience as a Medical Assistant is preferred, with Primary Care experience considered a plus. Familiarity with medical terminology and basic clinical procedures is required. Experience with EHR systems is preferred. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities are essential in a fast-paced environment, along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is required. Medical Assistant certification is preferred but not mandatory.
