• Assists in delivery of physicians reports via phone and electronic distribution in a timely manner.
• Responds to ''technical question'' calls from units and physicians.
• Performs preventive maintenance and monitoring of all equipment to ensure that it is working properly and maintains related records.
• Records on instrument logs any repairs, replacement, and maintenance needed of equipment.
• Maintains adequate supply inventories by rotating stock, checking for expiration dates, and ordering replacement stock..
• Performs venipuncture on patients of all age groups and other specimen collection using proper therapeutic skills and according to procedures.
• Assists supervisors in additional duties, which support the lab's quality program.
• May serve as a CLIA defined technical consultant, technical supervisor, and general supervisor.
• May perform technical supervisor reviews in ImmunoHematology.

Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Science required upon hire OR
• Bachelor's degree or higher in related field required upon hire
• A combination of education, training and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
• A minimum of 1 years' internship in a Hospital Laboratory required
• MT - Certified as a Medical Technologist through American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) required within 6 months of employment in this position OR
• MT - Certified as a Medical Technologist through American Medical Technologists (AMT) required within 6 months of employment in this position OR
• MLS - Certified as a Medical Laboratory Scientist through American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) required within 6 months of employment in this position
