Schedule & Compensation:
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8am-12pm
Pay: Starting at $26-$28/hr (based on qualifications & experience)
Benefits: PTO, sick leave, and free BCBA supervision for BACB candidates.
Duration: Summer role, transitions to weekends after school start. URGENT HIRE!
Role & Responsibilities:
Join our in-home ABA team supporting a 10-year-old learner with autism, and high support needs. The client is affectionate, curious, and motivated by sensory play, music, movement, and cause-and-effect activities. He uses Proloquo2Go for communication and has made strong progress in spontaneous AAC use this year.
You’ll work under direct BCBA supervision to:
• Foster communication and independence using the Proloquo2Go AAC device and other multimodal communication tools.
• Implement individualized goals targeting communication, play, self-help, and tolerance skills.
• Build and maintain strong pairing and rapport through playful, enthusiastic, and sensory-rich interactions.
• Encourage participation through naturalistic, fun, and flexible teaching that keeps motivation high while maintaining structure.
• Run ongoing preference assessments, collect accurate data, and assist in generalizing skills across home routines.
• Collaborate closely with the BCBA and second therapist to ensure consistency, share observations, and problem-solve creatively.
This learner benefits from a therapist who can think on their feet, turn everyday tasks into playful teaching moments, and understands motivating operations, differential reinforcement, and the importance of enthusiastic pairing.
Ideal Candidate Characteristics:
• Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) or BCaBA with at least 1 year of ABA experience.
• Experienced with AAC systems (Proloquo2Go preferred) and supporting minimally verbal learners.
• Skilled in pairing, shaping, and natural environment teaching for early learners.
• Calm, patient, and consistent when managing escape-maintained or avoidance behaviors.
• Comfortable following structured treatment plans while staying playful, animated, and engaging.
• Reliable and collaborative team player, open to coaching and feedback.
• Ideally familiar with VB-MAPP Level 1–2 targets, reinforcement-based behavior reduction, and visual supports (e.g., schedules, first/then boards).
• Excellent attendance and professional communication required.
Why Join Our Team?
This role is ideal for candidates who:
• Enjoy working creatively with children who need fun, sensory, and movement-based engagement.
