Practice Info
• Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery
• Department of Surgery
• Provide care to patients on the MCV campus of VCU, as well as community facilities
• Support from the Division and Department’s leadership for developing an active surgical practice
Responsibilities
• Teach in all areas of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery to fellows, residents, as well as medical and undergraduate students
• Establish clinical research projects with medical students and residents to establish evidence-based practice outcomes
• Participate and/or establish clinical trials within the division
• Serve on departmental and hospital committees as assigned
• Participate in regional and national professional organizations
• Provide care to the patients of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery on the MCV campus of VCU, as well as community facilities
• Responsible for the development of an active surgical practice
Requirements
• Must be Board Certified/Board Eligible in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery
• Virginia state licensure
• Completion of a fellowship within any of the Plastic Surgery sub-specialties
• Commitment to resident education and teaching
• Commitment to research and innovation
• Excellent interpersonal skills with high emotional intelligence
• Ability to function in a complex matrixed environment
• Effective skills in managing conflict
• Commitment to clinical excellence, education, and clinical research
• Demonstrated experience working in and fostering an environment of respect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from various backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU
