Job Description
. You will be part of a collaborative medical team within the infusion center. Overview Prior to facility opening in September, training will be at Midlothian and Glen Allen clinics. Training reimbursement includes hotel and travel. Primary Responsibilities Performs a variety of patient care activities rendering quality care in accordance with standards of practice. Room clinic patients in person or virtually and update patient charts with the required information. Communicate pertinent patient data to providers and nurses to ensure quality and continuity of patient care. Provide administrative and front‑end support: greet patients, assist with scheduling, manage phone calls, and process payments. Oversees and ensures efficient turnover of exam rooms. Assist providers in the exam room as requested. Collect, prepare, and submit ordered patient lab specimens as directed. Assist Patient Services team as needed to obtain prior authorizations for prescribed treatments and documents. Triage patient phone calls and messages and document them appropriately. Order and manage supplies under the direction of the manager. Disinfect and stock the exam rooms; obtain records required for the patient’s chart. Demonstrate effective communication skills and report patient issues as needed throughout the treatment day. Follow company policies and CDC guidelines for infection control. Secondary Responsibilities Assist with proper handling and storage of hazardous materials. Maintain confidentiality of all company and patient records; adhere to HIPAA. Communicate schedule changes to the team and assist with rescheduling patients. Manage incoming mail and deliveries. Qualifications Education and Experience High school graduate or equivalent, required. Medical Assistant Certification, preferred. CPR/BLS, required prior to start date. 1 year of experience working within a clinical environment, required. 1 year in an administrative, patient-facing, or customer service role, required. Phlebotomy and lab processing skills, preferred. Skills Self-motivated with the ability to work independently as needed. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills; professional and effective communication with staff, patients and physicians. Computer skills for electronic recordkeeping. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. The role requires standing, walking, talking, hearing, and smelling; visual acuity and manual dexterity are required; occasional bending, crouching, kneeling, or reaching. PPE may be required.
