Qualifications

  • Be a licensed nurse, with a current license
  • Minimum of one year of infusion nursing experience
  • GCP certified for research purposes in infusions

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate proficient infusion skills
  • Provides professional nursing care to assigned patients in need of intravenous treatment
  • Administers intravenous therapeutic treatments as directed by a physician
  • Determines appropriate venipuncture and or catheter site
  • Observes patients' IV treatment and records observations in patient medical records
  • Provides information to patients and families regarding intravenous treatment and procedures
  • Perform infusion therapy as directed by physician orders
  • Establish intravenous access per policy and procedure
  • Observe, assess, and document symptoms via nurse's note timely
  • Monitor reactions and patient progress
  • Educate patients and/or caregivers on disease processes, medications, side effects/risks
  • Schedule follow up appointment for next therapy
  • Notify the physician and other personnel (CEO) of change in the patient's condition
  • Perform skill outline in the agency’s approved policy and procedure manual
  • Update clinical records according to policy and procedures
  • Update knowledge and skills by attending in‑service programs, continuing education programs, seminars, and self‑study programs annually
  • Perform inventory count before and after clinic daily, communicate needs to [email protected]
  • Communicate supply needs prn to [email protected]
  • Adhere to safe nursing practice standards
  • Maintain professionalism with patient and client staff
  • Obtain satisfaction surveys from patients prn
  • Collect co‑pays as required
  • Call no-show patients prn
  • Be knowledgeable about medications to be administered
  • Mix medication per policy and procedure (never before patient arrival)
  • Adhere to Medicaid and Medicare regulations
