Recent milestones include the completion of the $80 million Center for Medical Education and Wellness and new initiatives designed to expand research capacity and clinical innovation.

The Opportunity

The Senior Director of Development will play a pivotal role in strengthening philanthropic support for LSU Health Shreveport and the Ochsner LSU Health System through major gift fundraising and the continued development of a new grateful patient program. Reporting to the Vice President for Development, this role serves as a frontline fundraiser responsible for cultivating and securing major gifts of $25,000 and above in support of clinical care, research, and medical education.

Working closely with clinical leaders, faculty physicians, and key hospital staff, the Senior Director will help build a culture of philanthropy within the academic health center. A core component of the role involves partnering with clinical faculty to identify and engage grateful patients and families whose experiences with LSU Health Shreveport and Ochsner LSU Health have inspired them to support the future of healthcare in the region. The Senior Director will guide these prospects through a thoughtful donor journey, from qualification and cultivation to solicitation and stewardship, while documenting activity and progress through established fundraising systems.

As the Foundation continues to expand its development operations and deepen partnerships across LSU Health Shreveport and the Ochsner LSU Health System, the Senior Director will join a close-knit and growing team committed to building sustainable philanthropic support for healthcare in North Louisiana and beyond.

The salary range for this position is $100,000 – $125,000.
