Job Description

Position: Autism Support & Independence Advocate (Part-Time)

Benhaven is looking for Direct Support Professionals to work for our Individual & Family Supports assisting individuals with autism in their homes and the community. We are seeking enthusiastic and energetic applicants to provide support to our individuals.
Available positions listed below Hamden/North Haven Part-Time: (23.5 hours)

Mon & Tues 3p-9:30p;
Saturday 8a-6:30p
Hamden/North Haven Part-Time: (11 hours)

Thursday 3p-8p & Sunday 9a-3p
Responsibilities

The following duties are assigned to this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
• Encourage building skills for independence
• Encourage and assist in increasing socialization
• Encourage and assist individuals with the pursuit of vocational opportunities
• Assist and provide opportunities for individuals to participate in recreational activities
Experience & Requirements
• Must have experience working with individuals with autism.
• Mustbe able to pass a variety of background checks.
• Musthave a CT driver's license.
• Applicant must have a registered and insured vehicle that can pass a safety inspection.
• Will train in PMT (physical management training) and CPR, if not already certified.
