Qualifications

  • The ideal candidate for the position will have the following background and experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Level Sr (in addition to level 1 requirements)
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job
  • Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator, and other office equipment
  • Requires normal range of hearing and vision correctable to 20/20
  • Requires occasional lifting of up to 30 pounds
  • Potential for exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations and other conditions common to a clinic environment

Responsibilities

  • This is a full-time Monday-Friday 8:30am-5pm position with no weekends, call, or major holidays
  • Under direct supervision, initiates and/or maintains accurate and current logs of all patients referred for participation in clinical research
  • Collects data from initial patient contact through course of therapy and long-term follow-up
  • Performs all clerical and administrative data management functions for the department
  • May assist with direct patient care, laboratory services, and maintenance of supplies duties as they relate to Clinical Research
  • Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards
  • Maintains patient data files in an organized manner for easy retrieval and review
  • Collects patient data from initial patient contact through course of therapy, rehabilitation, and long-term care
  • Assists with scheduling consultations, diagnostic tests or procedures, and future appointments for patients with physicians as requested
  • Prepares patient records for audits by regulatory, accrediting, and research organizations
  • Maintains supplies, drugs and storage facilities for clinical research as appropriate
  • May enter some pertinent data in computer system in a timely manner as outlined by department guidelines
  • May assist physicians and nurses with direct patient care including vital signs and assisting in procedures
  • May assist with collecting and processing specimens for research purposes
