Job Description

• Assist in the development and maintaining of auditing reports to assess compliance to best practices.
• Provide troubleshooting related to individual end-user issues.
• Participate in the system testing process for new functionality or application upgrades.
• Collaborate regularly with staff and leadership on ways to achieve more efficient, effective and applicable workflow and outcomes.
• Stay up-to-date on application releases and enhancements.
• Provide system administration and file maintenance support.
• Participate in all application upgrades, fixes, and enhancements (software and hardware related).
• Some cross-training with EPM and/or EMR will be required.

Requirements

Education:
• High school diploma required
• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience preferred

Experience:
• Minimum of 2 years experience using NextGen EMR and/or EPM.
• Proficient with electronic health record systems (clinical or practice management) in a healthcare setting with an excellent understanding of clinical language.
• Experience on the PM side of NextGen preferred.
• Must understand clinical or support work flow, applications, and procedures.
• Must have the ability to function independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple tasks and timelines.
• Strong interpersonal and communications skills, including the ability to work effectively with physicians and clinic staff.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and staff.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Become NextGen certified and maintain certification.
• Experience developing training materials (printed and/or video) is a plus.

Performance Requirements:

Knowledge:
• Extensive knowledge of EMR and practice management applications.
• Knowledge of trouble-shooting techniques.

Skills:
• Skill in assisting a variety of users on computer applications and programs.
• Skill in effective interpersonal skills and customer support methods.

Abilities:
• Ability to clearly explain computer applications and programs in simple, user-friendly ways.
• Ability to effectively interact with all employees at all levels of computer understanding.
• Ability to be well organized and prioritize effectively.

Equipment Operated:
• Standard office equipment including computers, copiers, printers, telephones, etc.

Work Environment:
• Position is in a well-lighted office environment. Occasional evening and weekend work.

Mental/Physical Requirements:
• Involves sitting approximately 90 percent of the day, walking, kneeling, bending, or standing the remainder. May be required to lift up to 30 pounds.
