Job Description
or Analysis (ABA) services to children with autism and their families. We are seeking individuals who are driven to help others using an effective, science-based approach.
After-school positions are available at our Sparks and Reno-based clinics. Shifts are 3:30pm-6:30pm Monday-Friday with occasional (~2/quarter) Saturdays - see details at the bottom of the ad.
Behavior technicians deliver 1:1 behavioral intervention to children, following a treatment plan developed by a Licensed Behavior Analyst. In Nevada, behavior technicians must hold a registration (RBT) with both the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (bacb.com) and the NV State Board of Applied Behavior Analysis (nvababoard.org). At the LC, we provide paid training and support you in obtaining these credentials so you are confident and prepared to provide excellent care to our learners.
To be successful at the LC as a behavior technician, first and foremost, you must have a love for children and know how to play, be silly, and have FUN! Timeliness in completing job readiness activities, reliability, and diligence in adhering to compliance requirements related to delivering medical services is also very important.
The process of obtaining a state RBT credential can take six to eight weeks, during which time, you earn a training rate while completing our internal job readiness program. After completing the program and obtaining your registration, you are qualified for a position as a registered behavior technician. You also qualify for our excellent benefits program, including 3 weeks of PTO, health insurance for eligible employees, a retirement plan with employer match, and more.
Working as an RBT is an excellent way to gain experience if you are pursuing a career in behavior analysis, psychology, or related fields. We provide high-quality training and supervision, including paid fieldwork experience and an internal career path (including toward non-clinical positions) for qualified individuals pursuing fieldwork experience toward a BCaBA or BCBA. Clinic-based work allows for frequent interactions with your team and supervisors in a highly supportive environment. We provide generous paid admin time and we guarantee your schedule - you will have the opportunity to work even if a learner's session is canceled.
Already an RBT in Nevada? A $500 signing bonus for providers who already have their state registration!
Minimum requirements for this position include:
• Experience with children and a love for helping them learn
• Commitment to providing the highest quality care
• High school diploma
• Available to work a specific schedule (see below)
• Willingness to work with individuals who may engage in challenging behavior including aggression and elopement
• Ability to lift at least 50 lbs, stand for long durations, move quickly, and stay within arms distance of learners, easily rise from a sitting position on the floor to standing
