Job Description
care and outpatient clinics, requiring flexibility and collaboration across care settings to ensure seamless continuity of care.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments through physical examinations and history-taking
• Order, interpret, and follow up on diagnostic tests, including lab work and imaging
• Diagnose medical conditions and develop individualized treatment plans
• Educate patients on preventive care strategies such as screenings, immunizations, and lifestyle modifications
• Refer patients to appropriate medical specialists as needed
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date patient medical records in accordance with legal and ethical standards
• Ensure patient privacy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA and institutional policies
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and interdepartmental collaboration
• Familiarity with laws and regulations related to infection control, patient safety, privacy protection, pain management and opioid prescribing.
Qualifications
Education & Certifications
• Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
• Board Certification in Family Medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine (required)
• Active and unrestricted state medical license (required)
• Valid DEA registration for prescription of controlled substances
• Successful completion of the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE)
• Compliant with annual CME requirements
Experience
• Prior clinical experience in family medicine, primary care, or a similar setting preferred
• Demonstrated history of delivering high-quality, patient-centered care
Required Skills & Competencies
• Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Time management and organizational abilities in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR), email, and clinical software
• Emotional intelligence and the ability to connect with patients of diverse backgrounds
• Leadership capabilities and team collaboration
• Knowledge of relevant federal and state healthcare regulations
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
• Standard outpatient clinical setting with occasional extended hours
• Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and walking
• Manual dexterity for clinical procedures
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs
• Exposure to bloodborne pathogens and infectious diseases (OSHA Category I)
