Responsibilities

  • Provides assistance to residents to meet their daily needs while providing a safe environment and ensuring the dignity and well-being of residents under direction of the Resident Care Director
  • Shift starts 10pm to 6am
  • Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned
  • Provide assistance with the activities of daily living
  • Answer and respond to pendant calls immediately to determine residents’ needs
  • Participate in the shift change reports
  • Practice proper body mechanics transferring and follow safety guidelines according to residence policies and procedures
  • Take residents vital signs and documents findings
  • Any abnormalities should be reported to Director of Resident Care
  • In the event, the Director of Resident Care is not available call 911
  • Knowledge of the proper way to discharge residents to hospital
  • Serve meals and clears place settings and assists residents requiring help (Memory care floor)
  • Encourage residents to attend meals in the dining room, escort residents to and from the dining room
  • Make sure residents are hydrated
  • Assist in transferring residents to and from activities so that all can participate in the activity program
  • Make rounds every 2 hours of all residents and provide care if needed
  • Offer choice, maintain dignity, and promote individuality for all residents
  • Observe and report any changes in residents’ status, skin alterations/issues, and/or incidents to the Director of Resident Care
  • Ensure residents’ rooms look neat and clean
  • Assist with residents’ personal laundry as needed
  • Provide excellent customer service to residents, co-workers, family members, and visitors at all times
  • Attend all regular staff meetings and required training sessions
  • Sign in and out for radios and pagers
  • Proper use and maintenance of radios and pagers
