POSITION SUMMARY
The Research Coordinator supports research and scholarly activity across SGMC Health, with a primary focus on Graduate Medical Education (GME) scholarship involving residents, faculty, and medical students. The role provides coordination for research operations and timelines; serves as a central resource for IRB navigation, regulatory documentation, and compliance; supports system‑wide research initiatives; and assists with planning and documentation of Continuing Medical Education (CME) activities. The Research Coordinator works closely with the GME Office, faculty mentors, trainees, research committees, clinical leadership, and external partners to promote high‑quality scholarship and ethical, compliant research practices.
EDUCATION
• Bachelor’s degree required in health sciences, public health, education, research, or a related field.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• CITI training required upon hire (or prior completion preferred).
• Certified Clinical Research Professional (CCRP), Certified Clinical Research Coordinator (CCRC), or equivalent certification preferred/encouraged.
EXPERIENCE
• Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in research coordination, academic medicine, clinical research, or a related role.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
• Experience with IRB submissions and regulatory documentation strongly preferred.
• Experience supporting medical education or healthcare research initiatives preferred.
• Strong understanding of research ethics, IRB processes, and regulatory compliance.
• Familiarity with Continuing Medical Education (CME) accreditation standards preferred.
• Strong organizational, time-management, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and research tracking or database systems.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
