In this critical role, you will execute small models to support pre-clinical animal efficacy studies across severa discovery projects in accordance with Apeximmune’s goals. Working under guidance of lead scientists who will provide guidance on high-level experimental and strategic design, you will be responsible for independently performing all hands-on rodent models, including autoimmune disease models (e.g. Type 1 Diabetes, AD, EAE, Colitis) and syngeneic/xenograft tumor models —encompassing tumor cell inoculation, dosing, health monitoring, phenotyping, genotyping, and tissue harvest.

The successful candidate will be highly skilled and experienced in all different routes of injection and in tumor implantation. In addition, you will also utilize your knowledge and experience to make contributions to these projects at the laboratory bench, including antibody screening and identification of lead candidates prior to nomination for animal studies. · Design strategic plans and execute animal research experiments

· Lead and perform independently research activities with small animal models, including coordinating with vendors and vivarium staff for animal ordering and management/husbandry of mouse colonies, running experiments and analyzing results

· Perform drug administrations, harvesting and processing tissues, breeding of custom mouse strains, among other tasks

· Conduct bench activities in immunology and molecular cell biology that may include antibody binding characterization, functional screening, cell culture, and reagent generation

· Contribute to a collaborative team environment by c presenting in internal meetings, and sharing technical expertise

Requirements:

· B.S. with 2+ years of extensive hands-on experience in small animal models such as mice and rats

· Expertise in rodent in vivo pharmacology studies.

· Proficiency in the isolation of tumor infiltrating lymphocytes, lymph nodes and spleens

· Experience with basic tissue culture, transfection/transduction of mammalian cell lines and primary cells

· Experience in multi-color flow cytometry and FACS-based phenotypic and functional characterization of immune cell populations is a strong plus.

· Proficiency with basic data analysis software (GraphPad Prism, Excel, etc.)

· Strong capability to identify and resolve problems as well as communicate clearly and concisely
