JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
1. Master’s Degree in Behavior Analysis, SPED, Psychology, or related field
Experience:
• 5 years of experience in direct behavioral services to children aged 4-18 preferred not required
• 3 to 5 years of successful teaching experience with 2 years of successful experience teaching students with Behavioral concerns preferred not required
Certificates/Licenses:
1. BCBA or BCBA-O Credential Required
2. Eligibility for CDE License with BCBA endorsement
3. Current Colorado Teaching License preferred
4. Valid Colorado Driver’s license
JOB EXPECTATIONS:

JOB SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
1. Demonstrates the ability to teach alternative learning skills and problem-solving to students with autism or characteristics of students with significant emotional/behavioral disorders
2. Demonstrates the ability to assist teaching staff to modify, adapt or change academic course content and materials according to students’ needs
3. Demonstrates the ability to be flexible with changing schedules, locations, and duties
4. Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and organizational skills
5. Demonstrates the ability to use various teaching strategies with students of diverse abilities and learning styles
6. Demonstrates the ability to create and implement standards-based lesson plans that embed strategies for working with students on the autism spectrum in an appropriate and effective manner
7. Demonstrates the ability to work independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary professional team
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Assists teams in conducting functional behavioral assessments for individual students in accordance with Federal and State laws and regulations
2. Monitors and tracks progress to ensure positive outcomes for students
3. Creates and assists district staff with the development and implementation of behavior intervention plans and other appropriate programs for students who present behavior/learning challenges
4. Serves as a resource for information regarding laws, regulations, and procedures related to applied behavior analysis, special education, and behavior
5. Designs, develops, and implements behavioral supports and services rooted in ABA methodology for students
6. Participates in referral decisions with the Special Education Administrative Team
7. Provides consultation and direct service to building programs and students
8. Provides direct supervision to RBTs employed by the district and graduate students pursuing BCBA certification. Supervision is provided according to Behavior Analyst Certification Board requirements in order to maintain individual supervision, as well as to ensure high-quality services, to improve overall program efficiency and functioning
9. Leads district-wide programs on educational programming, behavior intervention, and data-based decision making
10. Supervises graduate students pursuing BCBA certification, ensuring compliance with certification board requirements and high-quality services
11. Leads special education behavior and Autism teams, including program planning, training, and evaluation. Participates in referral decisions and supports special education initiatives
12. Develops materials and resources for staff using evidence-based methodologies such as ABA. Coordinates professional development activities
13. Prepares reports documenting assessments and treatments. Analyzes data for decision-making in behavioral health
14. Collaborates with external agencies to promote pro-social skills
15. Provides ongoing District and building in-service and staff development training and support to assist in serving students appropriately on the autism spectrum
16. Provides direct support and/or IEP service time as needed
17. Maintains records and completes all information necessary for the District data management system or required by state and federal agencies
18. Models an effective understanding and respect for diversity and inclusion
19. Incorporates legal rights and due process for children with special needs
20. Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively, get along with co-workers, and deal with colleagues in a professional manner
21. Demonstrates a positive attitude towards change
22. Performs such other tasks as may, from time to time, be assigned
