Hematology/Oncology Physician

Department of Veterans Affairs, Fresno, CA

Location: Onsite at VA Central California Health Care System

2615 E. Clinton Ave., Fresno, CA 93703

Schedule: Full-time (Monday through Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm, 40 hours/week)

Pay Rate: $250–$300/hour

No nights, weekends, holidays, or call required.

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled BC/BE Hematologist-Oncologist for an exceptional opportunity serving our nation’s Veterans at the Fresno VA.

Key Responsibilities
• Provide comprehensive onsite hematology and oncology care (inpatient and outpatient) to VA patients
• Diagnose, evaluate, admit, manage, and follow-up on patients with a variety of hematologic and oncologic conditions
• Perform history and physicals, develop treatment plans, order appropriate diagnostics, initiate/monitor therapies, and provide discharge planning
• Collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary VA team, including sub-specialists, nurses, and support staff
• Lead or participate in code teams and rapid response as needed
• Maintain thorough documentation in the VA electronic health record (EHR) system
• Attend team meetings and participate in quality improvement as assigned
• Meet or exceed all standards outlined by VA, Joint Commission, and relevant hematology/oncology guidelines

Requirements
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Hematology and/or Oncology (ABIM)
• MD or DO degree; current, unrestricted license to practice medicine in any U.S. state or territory
• Current BLS and ACLS certification
• Proficiency in English and solid communication skills
• Willing and able to complete VA credentialing, immunizations, and required annual trainings
• National Provider Identifier (NPI) and (if prescribing) valid DEA number
• No history of revoked/restricted licensure or exclusion from government healthcare programs
• U.S. citizenship or authorization to work in the U.S. as a healthcare provider
